Job summary

World Market in Windsor is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician to handle general building upkeep, light repairs, and support the core maintenance team. The role offers flexible evening hours (4:00 PM – 9:00 PM) or a full-time path and includes cross-training on the battery changer.

Ideal candidates are handy, reliable, and eager to learn, with a High School Diploma and basic painting, drywall, and carpentry skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proven experience in general building maintenance or facility upkeep is preferred.
• Basic painting, drywall repair, and minor carpentry skills are desirable.
• Strong self-management and ability to work independently during evening hours.
• Flexibility to learn new operational skills like battery changing.

Responsibilities

• Facility Upkeep: perform general building maintenance and handyman tasks, including painting, minor repairs, hardware replacements, and routine upkeep.
• Operational Support: cross-train on the battery changer and assist with operational flow.
• Maintenance Support: assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and special projects as needed.
• Team Collaboration: work with Operations and Maintenance to identify facility needs and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Independent Work: prioritize and complete daily tasks with minimal supervision.
• Other Duties: perform additional duties to support facility and operations.

WhatYou’llDo

• Facility Upkeep: Perform general building maintenance and handyman tasks, including interior and exterior painting, minor repairs, fixture replacement, door and hardware repairs, basic carpentry, and routine upkeep of facility structures and common areas.
• Operational Support: Complete cross‑training on the battery changer and provide support as needed to help maintain efficient operational flow.
• Maintenance Support: Assist the broader Maintenance department with preventive maintenance activities, facility repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and specialized maintenance projects during peak periods or as operational needs require.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, and other departments to identify facility needs, address issues promptly, and maintain a safe, clean, and functional work environment.
• Independent Work: Prioritize and execute daily maintenance and facility‑related tasks efficiently with minimal to no direct supervision while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support facility and operational needs.

Work Location: Windsor Virginia Distribution Center

Experience & SkillsYou’llBring

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience in general building maintenance, handy work, or facility upkeep.
• Basic proficiency in painting, drywall patch/repair, and minor carpentry.
• Strong self‑management skills and the ability to work independently during evening hours.
• Flexibility to learn new operational skills (like battery changing) and support team initiatives

VA Pay Range is $19.50-$20.50 per hour

Full time and Part time associates are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) retirement savings plan after three (3) months of service.
