The Facilities Maintenance Technician maintains the grounds, facilities, and equipment of all Oak Orchard sites in a safe and efficient manner, complying with all relevant codes, guidelines, regulations, and policies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Follow maintenance schedules as outlined for your shift or area
• Participate in educational classes, workshops, and seminars as directed
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, and driveways
• Conduct repairs on plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical systems, etc., according to established procedures
• Perform cleaning duties in elevated places
• Replace bulbs, call lights, and perform servicing of heating and cooling units
• Handle unscheduled maintenance tasks as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or incidents immediately
• Keep work areas clean and tools properly stored
• Maintain infection control and safety practices
• Assist in inventory management of supplies
• Support training of new personnel and make independent decisions when necessary
• Recommend equipment and supply needs to management
• Understand basic operation of fire alarm systems and other safety equipment
• Read blueprints and schematics
• Perform other related tasks as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

• Previous experience in general building maintenance
• Proficiency with hand tools and power equipment
• Basic math skills
• Physical ability to perform job duties
• Valid NYS driver’s license with a clean record

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED minimum

Salary: $24-$28/hour, commensurate with experience
