Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities & Maintenance Technician to support the preventive maintenance and facility reliability efforts at our manufacturing site. This role is responsible for performing scheduled maintenance on coating and production equipment and assisting with service activities for critical facility systems such as HVAC units, generators, compressors, chillers, nitrogen generators, RO water systems, and other process support equipment. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technician with strong troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to keeping plant operations running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
Facility Systems Maintenance
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant utilities, including air compressors & distribution systems, nitrogen (N₂) generators, RO water systems, chillers and cooling systems, HVAC units and air handling equipment, wash lines, sandblasting, and auxiliary process equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections, monitoring, and adjustments to ensure reliability and uptime.
  • Assist with installation, setup, and commissioning of new facility equipment.
Vendor & Contractor Support
  • Coordinate service visits with external vendors for key assets (HVAC, generators, chillers, etc.).
  • Escort contractors during onsite work and ensure adherence to site safety requirements.
  • Review completed service reports and communicate any issues or follow‑up needs to the Facilities Lead or Operations team.
Documentation, Tracking & Process Support
  • Create, update, and maintain maintenance procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions for all facility systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, service logs, and calibration data.
  • Update PM schedules and work orders in the maintenance tracking system.
  • Assist with developing or updating SOPs and maintenance procedures as processes evolve.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Operations teams to ensure equipment maintenance records meet audit and compliance requirements.
  • Periodically review and revise procedures to reflect process improvements, new equipment installations, or safety updates.
Continuous Improvement, Safety & Compliance
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Support the development and documentation of root cause analyses, corrective actions, and reliability improvement initiatives to address recurring equipment failures and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain detailed records for facility inspections, equipment calibrations, and contractor performance evaluations.
  • Ensure version control and approval of all maintenance documentation per company quality system protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and facility policies.
  • Train and guide production staff as needed.
Assembly of Vacuum Coating Equipment
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, air schematics, build diagrams, and assembly instructions accurately.
  • Handle and prepare vacuum mating surfaces and flanges, ensuring correct installation and surface preparation.
  • Read vacuum gauges and apply basic principles of vacuum operation.
  • Perform delicate assembly tasks involving high‑precision sensor circuits and vacuum systems.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Associate degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge of Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Building Maintenance, Plumbing and HVAC Systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout, fire safety systems.
  • Ability to follow preventive maintenance schedules and respond to equipment issues effectively.
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with vendors and team members.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Skills
  • Welding/Fabrication.
  • Building automation systems (BAS).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and parts (up to 50 lbs.).
