Job summary

JLL is seeking an Engineer Helper to support the engineering team in a large commercial office building in New York, focusing on safety, efficiency, and tenant comfort. You’ll perform maintenance, repair work, and respond to day-to-day needs across common areas and tenant spaces.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration across the global JLL network to ensure reliable building performance and exceptional occupant experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years using hand and power tools in maintenance/engineering.
• Ability to work with team and take directions from supervisors.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with tenants and colleagues.
• Willingness to attend Local 94 union school for 3 years.
• Ability to work overtime and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
• Certificates of Fitness A-35, P-98 and S-12/S-13/S-14 required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs across building systems.
• Use hand and power tools safely to complete tasks.
• Assist with preventive maintenance programs and update records.
• Respond to tenant inquiries professionally and escalate when needed.
• Maintain plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall work as required.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and work overtime when necessary.
