Job summary

Ballard Truck Center in Johnston, RI is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform general maintenance, cleaning and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities. You will help keep our equipment and buildings in top shape to support operations in the northeast.

The role requires the ability to follow instructions, basic carpentry and repair knowledge, and the use of hand tools and power tools. On-the-job training is offered and related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Related experience preferred.
• On-the-job training offered.

Responsibilities

• Floor cleaning, emptying trash, refilling dispensers.
• Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
• Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
• Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
• Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Orders supplies and materials needed for cleaning and repairs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
