Job summary

RIRRC in Johnston, RI is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician responsible for major, minor, and preventive maintenance repairs on vehicles and heavy equipment. You will work with diesel and gasoline engines, diagnostic tools, and perform tune ups while ensuring safety and compliance with procedures.

The role involves troubleshooting, supervising vendor work, keeping records, and occasionally traveling for training.

Qualifications

• Must obtain OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety within 12 months of employment.
• Must obtain Hoisting Engineers restricted endorsement 204 excavating equipment or equivalent within six months and maintain throughout employment.
• Possess a current, valid driver’s license.
• Read and interpret manuals and schematics.
• Experience with heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
• Must provide own tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair or preventative maintenance on electrical, diesel and gasoline vehicles, including heavy equipment.
• Conducts diagnostics and troubleshooting of equipment systems.
• Performs engine tune ups, including diagnosing items in need of repair, replacement, or adjustment.
• Oversees vendor service and repair orders.
• Tests drive and inspects vehicles for wear, damage, or specific problems affective performance.
• Maintains safety and housekeeping, follows Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Completes paperwork for repairs, parts usage, and time in repairs.
