Job summary

Life Care Centers of America in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform quality maintenance tasks across the facility, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and Life Care standards.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections for safety; assisting with patient evacuation when required; and supporting a respectful, professional interdisciplinary team to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems preferred.
• Knowledge of local building codes and ordinances preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements
• Inspect equipment/systems regularly for proper functioning and safety
• Run errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, and lift and move heavy furniture and equipment
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Assist in the evacuation of patients
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
