Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support daily facility maintenance, preventive tasks, and safety standards. You will inspect equipment, perform repairs, and assist with emergencies while maintaining a respectful, service-oriented attitude toward patients and staff.

The role requires a valid driver’s license and ability to lift heavy items, with strong teamwork and adherence to Life Care's policies and code of conduct.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one year maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred.
• Knowledge of local building codes and ordinance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
• Inspect equipment/systems regularly for proper functioning and safety.
• Run errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, and lift and move heavy furniture and equipment.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Demonstrate dependent, regular attendance.
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
