Job summary

Bigge Crane and Rigging is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician in Houston, TX to support the Pearland office. The role includes maintaining HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and access control systems, as well as overhead cranes.

The position requires a high school diploma, 10+ years in relevant areas, ability to lift 50 lbs, and occasional overnight travel. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Advanced skills in Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and/or Access Control (10+ years preferred).
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work at heights up to 25 feet.
• Some overtime is required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facilities systems including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, access control, and overhead cranes.
• Perform reactive and scheduled preventative maintenance for facilities equipment and systems.
• Manage and perform preventative maintenance on facilities equipment.
• Inform management of repair status and priorities.
• Control inventory levels for maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe conditions.
• Coordinate with HSE to ensure OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and NEC compliance.
• Occasional travel to other Bigge locations; work at elevated heights; operate a forklift.

Job Overview

This position serves as general maintenance and administrative support to the Facilities department in our Pearland, Texas office.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facilities systems, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, access control systems, and overhead cranes.
• Perform reactive and scheduled preventative maintenance for facilities such as filters, pits, and septic tanks.
• Manage and perform all preventative maintenance on facilities’ equipment.
• Inform management of the status ofrepairs
• Control inventory levels for maintenance supplies and equipment
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe conditions.
• Work with HSE to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), and NEC (National Electrical Code)
• This position requires occasional overnight travel to other Bigge locations
• Perform work at elevated heights when necessary.
• Operate aforklift.
• Can provide on-call services as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Advanced skill set in one or more of the following areas: Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Access Control Systems (10+ years preferred)
• Ability to communicate maintenance needs and project future needs.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to sustain heights (using ladders) up to 25 feet.
• Must be able to operate a company vehicle safely.
• Basic computer skills with moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Some overtime is required.
