Bigge Crane and Rigging is seeking a freelance? no, full-time Crane Technician to repair and maintain rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane equipment in Houston, TX. You will diagnose mechanical issues, read schematics, and perform inspections.

The role requires lifting up to 40 lbs and willingness to work evenings or weekends. The ideal candidate has 1+ year in crane maintenance, plus experience with electrical and drive-train components.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year repairing and maintaining rough terrain, crawler, and mobile crane equipment; vocational training may be considered in lieu of experience
  • Able to read schematics (both hydraulic and electrical)
  • Must be able to perform competent inspections of all cranes
  • Must supply own hand tools and keep up-to-date tool inventory of service truck
  • Have a current valid driver's license along with a clean driving record
  • Ability to drive a company service truck. Must keep the truck clean and maintained
  • A high school diploma is required, and higher education, including vocational training, is a plus

Job Overview

This position is responsible for the repair, service, and maintenance of rough terrain, crawler, and mobile cranes, as well as a variety of forklifts. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in mechanical systems, including electrical, drivetrain, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems, and demonstrate a high level of expertise in equipment diagnostics and repairs.

  • Perform annual certifications and inspections
  • Ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision
  • Computer literate with the ability to process information
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality
  • Knowledgeable in troubleshooting various equipment lines, including Manitowoc, Grove, Terex, Tadano, Broderson, Kobelco, and Liebherr cranes
  • A history of safe work habits
  • Hard worker with a great attitude
  • Must supply own hand tools and keep up-to-date tool inventory of service truck
  • Have a current valid driver's license along with a clean driving record
  • Ability to drive a company service truck. Must keep the truck clean and maintained
  • A high school diploma is required, and higher education, including vocational training, is a plus
