Job summary

Global Connections to Employment, Inc. is seeking a Laborer to support Facilities Maintenance with physical labor tasks across various sites. The role involves loading, moving, and organizing materials, lawn and grounds upkeep, and general site support.

Candidates must be able to work overtime/on-call, meet work eligibility requirements, and pass background screenings. Strong safety mindset and ability to travel as needed are required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to comprehend both written and/or verbal instructions.
• Must be able to work overtime and be on call as required in support of FM operations.
• Must possess a valid driver's license in the state they reside, have a satisfactory driving record, and be insurable under the corporate policy.
• Must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on the specified contract(s).
• Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks and other conveyances; move supplies and materials to the proper location by wheelbarrow or hand truck; stack materials for storage or binning; collect refuse and salvageable materials; and dig, fill, and tamp earth excavations.
• Maintain lawns, shrubbery, flowers, and trees using power and hand mowers, lawn tractors, clippers, and hand tools. May apply fertilizer, insecticide, and fungicide to lawns, shrubbery, flowers, and trees as needed.
• Level ground using a pick, shovel, tamper, or rake; shovel concrete; clean culverts and ditches; cut trees and brush; operate power lawnmowers; move and arrange heavy pieces of office and household furniture, equipment, and appliances; move machinery and equipment; and pick up leaves and trash.
• Be responsible for maximizing existing resources to support departmental budget requirements.
• Attend and successfully complete all mandatory training requirements.
• Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines
• Perform duties required by the site-specific statement of work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
