Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Duration: 03 Months (Temp to Hire)

Work type: Onsite

Position Summary:

To provide facilities related mechanical services for a Manufacturing/R&D/Distribution site including equipment and facility installation, repair, and preventative maintenance. This is a 2nd shift role, Monday - Friday 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm.

Key Objectives of the role:

1. Develop a complete understanding and working knowledge of all infrastructure systems and operations at the facility.
2. Respond to site infrastructure equipment alarms and execute repair and/or mitigation.
3. Ensure that the critical environment is restored to its original maintenance appearance.
4. Support site customer infrastructure facility needs as needed to ensure continuous operations.
5. Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems as established in department procedures.
6. Be available for an emergency on-call rotation.
7. Provide guidance and training to lower-level personnel.
8. Maintain working knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, pure steam generators, autoclaves, and glassware washers.
9. Maintain records of building operations, repairs, parts, and equipment.
10. Assist with creation of Preventive Maintenance documents and Standard Operating Procedures.
11. Accurately maintain records within CMMS.
12. Have working knowledge of a BMS.
13. Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
14. Ensure continuous operations of the site HVAC systems.
15. Perform other services necessary to maintain all mission-critical infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience/Requirements:

• At least eight years of related experience, including a background in a large plant/facility.
• Proven working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment/systems.
• Compliance with FDA, EH&S, cGMP, and ISO regulations.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Strong working knowledge of site BMS and CMMS.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in multiple relevant mechanical and/or electrical trades.
• Current CFC certification.

Working Conditions

Work in a laboratory environment, lifting up to 40 lbs, standing for long periods, working safely with chemicals and hazardous materials, working on rooftops in various weather conditions, and working overtime and flexible shifts. Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to develop reliability reports to identify potential future problems.
• Soft skills: communication, problem-solving, demeanor, influencing, leadership, negotiating.
• Ability to work independently or in a group with little supervision.
• Working knowledge of CMMS and BMS.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Stationary Engineer license (preferred).
