Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and upkeeping all buildings owned and operated by the City of Douglasville. The incumbent should possess knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, computers, painting, sheetrock repair, lighting fixtures, plumbing, and other building maintenance tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
PUBLIC SAFETY & MUNICIPAL COURT BUILDING
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent, two years of technical coursework, or five years of experience in building maintenance; or an Associate’s degree with relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Georgia CDL Driver’s License preferred; must obtain within 12 months. Police Department Maintenance Technician requires a Class C Driver’s License and completion of Georgia POST Jailor certification before supervising inmate crews.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Heavy work involving climbing, crawling, lifting, and other physical activities.
