Job summary

SAK Management in Chicago is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep buildings and grounds safe, clean, and comfortable for residents and staff. You will perform daily maintenance, repairs, and inspections in line with federal and state regulations and the company’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include electrical and plumbing repairs, HVAC maintenance, lighting, windows, doors, furniture, and grounds work.

Qualifications

Must be 18+ years old and have a GED or high school diploma.
Must have a valid driver’s license as per insurance requirements.
General knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment.
Ability to work on plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Willingness to work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions.
Must meet health assessment requirements.

Responsibilities

Maintains and repairs electrical and plumbing systems, heating or cooling units, fixtures, and other facility equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance and inspections per the facility plan.
Performs routine, scheduled, and emergency maintenance as needed.
Coordinates maintenance with nursing services for resident areas.
Attends departmental meetings and training programs.
Ensures work areas are safe and clean, stores tools properly.
Assists in safety, infection control, and resident dignity procedures.
