Job summary

Services for the UnderServed is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to ensure proper upkeep of the facility and support residents in basic cleaning and safety. The role involves developing a preventative maintenance schedule, conducting monthly fire safety audits, and assisting with client moves as needed.

Applicants should have at least HS Diploma or GED, one year repair experience, and a valid NYS Driver’s License.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year experience as a repair-person.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.
• Minimum one year experience working with mentally ill individuals within a residential or scatter-site program.
• Air conditioner installation, lock and cylinder changes, smoke detector installation, etc.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute a formalized preventive maintenance schedule for the facility.
• Submit requisitions for necessary maintenance/repair supplies to the Program Director on a weekly basis and control the inventory of supplies.
• Complete the monthly physical plant and fire safety audit of the facility.
• Participate in moving clients in and out of the facility.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance/mileage record prior to and upon returning from trips.
