Job summary

S:US is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to ensure proper maintenance of the facility and assist in basic cleaning and safety for residents. You will develop a preventative maintenance program and support moving clients as needed.

The role requires HS Diploma or GED, at least one year of repair experience, and a valid NYS driver’s license. Experience with residential programs is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year experience as a repair-person.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.
• Minimum one year experience working with mentally ill individuals within a residential or scatter-site program.
• Air conditioner installation, lock and cylinder changes, smoke detector installation.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute a formalized preventative maintenance schedule for the facility, i.e. painting, plastering, plumbing, changing locks, changing lighting fixtures, stripping and waxing floors, installing shades, etc.
• Submit requisitions for necessary maintenance/repair supplies to the Program Director on a weekly basis and control the inventory of supplies
• Complete the monthly physical plant and fire safety audit of the facility.
• Participate in moving clients in and out of the facility.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance/mileage record prior to and upon returning from trips.
