Job summary

RBC Bearings Incorporated, through its Sargent legacy, seeks a Facilities Maintenance Tech II to maintain and repair building infrastructure and equipment. You will follow safety-first practices, perform assignments from the Facilities Manager, and work with a team to ensure reliable operation of assets.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED with 2+ years of maintenance experience and strong knowledge of building systems, with forklift operation training and ITAR/EAR compliance ability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus vocational or trade training or experience.
• Minimum 2 years of similar maintenance work experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance methods, tools, materials and equipment for building finishes, equipment and systems.
• Must be U.S. person and able to obtain ITAR/EAR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is foundational in daily work.
• Keep a clean, safe work area and complete maintenance tasks.
• Receive and execute assignments from Facilities Manager.
• Repair and maintain building structures, finishes, equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with other technicians on facilities and grounds improvements.
• Label, store and dispose of hazardous materials properly.
• Other duties as assigned.

Purpose and Scope
Performs operations & maintenance tasks assigned by the Facilities Manager or designee.
Roles And Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is the foundation of daily work through vigilance and accountability.
• Maintains, and insures a clean and orderly work area and that all maintenance actions are accomplished in a safe manner.
• Receives work assignments from Facilities Manager or designee.
• Performs repairs and maintenance on building structures and finishes.
• Performs repairs and maintenance on building equipment and systems.
• Performs actions and works with other maintenance technicians in the maintenance and improvement of the building and grounds, architectural features, machinery, pumps, chillers, and all other facilities and building equipment, support systems and utilities.
• Ensures all hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored, and handled for proper disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or GED plus vocational or specialty trade training or experience.
• A minimum of 2 years personal experience performing similar work.
• A good working knowledge of maintenance methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in construction, maintenance, and repair of building finishes, equipment, and systems.
• Skills needed include adaptability, communication, customer focus, decision-making, dependability, initiative, interpersonal skills, job knowledge, judgment, personal organization, productivity, quality, results focus, teamwork, work environment, leadership, people development, project management.
• Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position.
• The ability to operate a forklift truck (following Sargent provided training).
• Must be a U.S. Person.

Preferred Skills

• The ability to perform corrective and preventative maintenance to restrooms, meeting rooms, doors, and cleaning equipment.
• The ability to service general plumbing and basic electrical needs of the property to include repairing toilets, sinks, showers, and small electrical devices.
