Job summary

Louisiana Department Of Transportation and Development (DOTD) Hammond district seeks a Maintenance Repairer 2 to assist with maintaining and rehabilitating DOTD-owned buildings, facilities, welcome centers, and rest areas. Tasks include carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and minor construction in a hands-on maintenance role in the Hammond area.

Qualifications

Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, or related operations.
Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction or related fields.
Twelve semester hours in construction management/engineering or related courses.

Responsibilities

Makes general repairs to buildings, interiors, exteriors, furniture, fixtures, and systems (HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical).
Performs limited appliance repairs and parts replacement.
Maintains and repairs motorized equipment and performs tune-ups and component checks.
Operates and inspects a wide range of hand tools and powered equipment to support maintenance tasks.
Performs general road maintenance tasks.
