Job summary

The University of Louisville, Health Sciences Center, is seeking a General Maintenance Technician II who will respond to maintenance requests and ensure proper operation of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.

The role emphasizes daily inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely communication with occupants and supervisors. A valid driver's license and pre-employment physical are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Pre-employment physical exam required.
  • Valid driver's license required and must be insurable by the University's insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspection tours of all common areas and mechanical rooms in assigned buildings to ensure all systems are functioning properly. Generate work orders for any necessary repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all capital equipment located within the assigned buildings and maintain mechanical rooms in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Perform services and repair requests reported by building occupants in a prioritized sequence. Keep occupants updated on the status of all outstanding and completed work orders. Assist other mechanics and craft areas as needed or time permits. Position may require overtime as needed and approved.
  • Accurately complete daily white cards documenting all daily work assignments.
  • Perform other related work as required by the supervisor.
