Job summary

ABM is seeking a General Maintenance Technician in Wheaton, MD to perform preventive and reactive maintenance across conveyor, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, instrumentation, HVAC, and other equipment. The role requires documenting data, responding to spills and emergencies, and coordinating with vendors to ensure reliable facility operations.

Essential functions include keeping mechanical and electrical areas clean, recording data in logs, and performing tests and routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of general maintenance experience.
• Experience with electrical and HVAC systems is a plus.
• Computer skills to interact with the building and Able Engineering Services’ computerized systems.
• Certification meeting OSHA ACM awareness training requirements.
• Demonstrates commitment to quality of service.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and cleans mechanical, electrical and shop areas.
• Maintains and performs repairs to buildings, utilities, grounds and equipment.
• Records all pertinent data in building logbooks and makes daily entries.
• Conducts utility and equipment tests.
• Coordinates parts, supplies, and equipment from local vendors and inventory.
• Performs routine maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned by property management.
