Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician in Frederick, MD to inspect, maintain and repair multiple sites. You will collaborate with fellow technicians to complete challenging projects and ensure safe, reliable facilities.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, hands-on use of tools, and ongoing training through U-Haul University. A valid driver’s license and DOT certification (sponsorship available) are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or landscaping.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• D.O.T certification (can be sponsored by U‑Haul)

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and build new buildings.
• Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites.
• Effectively work with a variety of hand/power tools.
• Collaborate with other Facility Maintenance Technicians to complete complex projects.
• Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Keep track of company truck and gas card.
• Participate in ongoing U‑Haul education through U‑Haul University.
