Job summary

Community Health Systems in Dothan, AL is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician I to perform preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to keep operations safe and efficient.

You will assist with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tasks, follow safety procedures, maintain documentation, and respond to maintenance requests as needed in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required
• Less than 1 year experience as a maintenance technician or job related field required
• Basic to intermediate experience in HVAC, mechanical maintenance, plumbing, or electrical preferred
• Journeyman or relevant industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all equipment from blueprints, technical manuals, or vendor specifications.
• Completes daily walk-throughs to ensure facility and grounds are clean and safe.
• Provides minor and major repair/maintenance of buildings and equipment on a routine basis.
• Responds to tenant and employee maintenance requests; may perform after-hours repairs.
• Maintains HVAC systems: repair, cleaning, adjusting, diagnosing faults.
• Maintains maintenance documentation and records.
• Follows OSHA, safety, and PPE requirements.
• Assists with maintenance of service equipment, power equipment, and kitchen equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
