Job summary

Life Care Centers of America in Valparaiso, IN is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform quality maintenance functions at the facility, ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of maintenance experience preferred, and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. A valid driver's license is also required. Shift includes Days/Evenings, with hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one year maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems preferred.
• Knowledge of local building codes and ordinance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
• Inspect equipment/systems regularly for proper functioning and safety.
• Run errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, and lift and move heavy furniture and equipment.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
