Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician in Phoenix, AZ to partner with the Building Engineer and maintenance team to keep the building livable, safe, and compliant through inspections and preventive maintenance. Responsibilities include maintaining mechanical, electrical, and safety systems; pool upkeep; routine inspections; and proper log keeping.

You should be able to work independently or with a team, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform duties across weather

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience in commercial, residential, high-rise, or HOA settings.
• Trade school experience preferred.
• Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool maintenance).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and withstand various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure building and systems are maintained properly and in safe working order (i.e. applicable mechanical systems, electrical, fire safety, access control, HVAC/ cooling tower, sprinkler systems, etc)
• Maintain recreational amenities (i.e. pool and spa, lounge areas, dog park, common areas, gym, etc)
• Assist in maintaining the common areas by picking up any trash and debris
• Conduct routine inspections
• Manage preventive inspection and maintenance schedule and corresponding work
• Keep accurate operational, maintenance and repair logs
• Help coordinate and perform modifications and improvements
• Ensure emergency maintenance situations are handled timely and properly
• Maintain an emergency response plan, including vendors and other necessary contacts
• Pool certification preferred
• Perform other duties as assigned
