Gate Gourmet in Newark, NJ seeks a Facility Mechanic to maintain a 24/7 operations environment. You will perform skilled and semiskilled tasks across mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems at multiple sites, supervise contractors, and ensure safe, high-quality work with proper cleanup.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 7–10 years of related experience, and welding/testing capabilities. Strong blueprint reading and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or related work experience.
• Must pass company testing for welder.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.

Responsabilités

• Schedules and oversees contractors ensuring safety, quality and cleanliness of work performed.
• Performs building repairs including drywall, paint, wall-covering, ceiling tile and grid, carpet and tile flooring, door hardware.
• Plumbing repairs including faucets, sinks, urinals, toilets, drains and valves.
• Exterior repairs including irrigation, signs, fence, roof and metal siding.
• Daily site inspections of facilities and mechanical equipment for proper operation.
• Preventive maintenance to building systems and equipment and create equipment check sheets.
• Provides reports to Maintenance Coordinator noting problems found.
• Repairs HVAC systems including boilers, AC units, VAV boxes, fans, controls and filters.
• Electrical repairs: lamps, ballasts, switches, wiring and circuits.
• Manage work requests, inventory of tools and supplies, and online purchase orders.
• Manage office furniture reconfigurations and moves.
