Job summary

Nantahala Outdoor Center in Bryson City, NC is seeking an experienced Repair & Maintenance Assistant Manager. In this role you will lead a small team to keep all campus facilities and guest housing in top condition, supporting guest services and staff.

The position is full-time with benefits eligibility and reports to the R&M Manager. Ideal candidates bring skills in electrical, plumbing, construction and carpentry, plus a record of safe operations, reliability and a cooperative approach with

Qualifications

Proficient in electrical, plumbing, construction and carpentry tasks.
Willing to work on-call including weekends and holidays.
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Knowledge of recycling products and processes.
Able to work with guests, staff and subcontractors in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment to keep them in good working order.
Work on long-term expansion or major capital projects.
Inspect and maintain assigned facilities.
Perform grounds maintenance.
Maintain and upkeep all tools, construction, and grounds keeping equipment.
Responsible for vehicles and equipment as designated.
Inform R&M Manager of any concerns or issues with facilities, grounds, equipment or vehicles.
Manage assigned staff to work on projects to meet department requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
