Job summary

Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) has an immediate opening for a Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Assistant Manager. You will lead a small team to keep NOC facilities and grounds maintained across campus locations and staff housing, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible role reporting to the R&M Manager. Ideal candidates bring practical trade skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry and construction, with on‑call availability, and a valid

Qualifications

Proven ability in electrical, plumbing, construction and carpentry.
Working knowledge of maintenance and construction trade tools.
Available for on-call shifts including weekends and holidays.
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment to keep them in good working order
Work on long‑term expansion or major capital projects
Inspect and maintain selected assigned facilities
Perform grounds maintenance
Maintain and upkeep all tools, construction, and grounds keeping equipment
Responsible for vehicles and equipment as designated
Inform R&M Manager of any concerns or issues with facilities, grounds, equipment or vehicles
Manage assigned staff to work on projects to meet department requirements
Other duties as assigned
