Job summary

City of Lauderdale Lakes, FL is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to support the Public Works Department. Under general supervision, you perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled manual labor to keep buildings and systems running efficiently, provide direction to Facilities Division crews, and oversee inspections and work orders.

You will schedule maintenance, supervise contractors, manage inventory, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least three years of responsible experience in facility operations, property management, or a building trade.
• Ability to read and understand work orders and safety procedures and to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Proficiency with basic office software and ability to track inspections and maintenance in a computer system.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, track, prioritize, and assign building maintenance requests and work orders.
• Schedule and monitor routine upkeep of all City facilities and security systems.
• Source external service providers, monitor service contracts, and oversee their on-site work.
• Maintain inventory of municipal facilities components and ensure records are up to date.
• Conduct regular walk-throughs to spot damages, hazards, and needed upgrades.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and coordinate with the Senior Facilities Coordinator.
