The South Dakota Department of the Military seeks a Building Maintenance Supervisor to oversee day-to-day facility maintenance, preventative repairs, and infrastructure preservation across Sioux Falls complexes.

This full-time role requires licensure as a journeyman/master electrician or plumber, supervisory experience, and the ability to manage procurement, safety compliance, and emergency response while supporting statewide operations.

Formación

• Licensure or Trade Credentials: Current state licensure as a Journeyman or Master Electrician, or Journeyman or Master Plumber.
• Technical & Vocational Training: Formal technical or vocational coursework and training in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration; Automated Building Energy Management Systems and Building Automation Systems; Finish Carpentry and commercial building construction; Leadership Background: Demonstrated supervisory work experience directing maintenance personnel, seasonal labor, or trade contractors; Institutional Experience: Experience navigating state government procurement systems, inventory tracking, or military installation operations.

Responsabilidades

• Ground-Level Supervision: Direct and coordinate preventative maintenance, facility repairs, and overall operational upkeep across designated complex facilities.
• Grounds & Seasonal Crew Management: Schedule and supervise seasonal workers to execute pavement maintenance, grounds clearance, and snow and ice removal across facilities on the east side of the state.
• State Procurement Management: Actively assist with and manage the state procurement process for materials, supplies, vendor contracts, and specialized service agreements across all three primary complexes.
• Technical Maintenance Oversight: Ensure structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical building systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with state and federal standards.
