Job summary

This role requires a track record of building trades work, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate multiple vendors in a busy shelter environment.

Qualifications

• Two years course work from a vocational or technical school in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, and construction trades.
• Four years progressively responsible experience performing skilled maintenance and repair work for commercial buildings and grounds, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates work of staff and outside vendors; trains employees and conducts performance evaluations.
• Prepares, maintains, and inspects records of machinery, HVAC, electrical systems on a planned schedule.
• Maintains records for maintenance work and manages inventory and supplies.
• Responds to emergencies per established policies and procedures.
• Performs skilled maintenance and repair for building and grounds (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
• Performs routine building maintenance and minor repairs to fixtures and walls.
