Job description

FACILITIES MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR- 1ST SHIFT

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are seeking a 1st Shift Facilities Maintenance Supervisor for our company JBS located in Mason, Ohio. The supervisor will oversee all maintenance aspects of the facility, including grounds, building, refrigeration, HVAC, and office areas. They will take direction from the Maintenance Manager regarding scheduling, facility preparation, and PM execution. The supervisor will be the direct manager for assigned employees, managing daily activities to meet facility efficiencies, evaluating work performance, and ensuring standards are followed. Use of tools to resolve issues is expected.

Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise and perform duties related to production and facility equipment/systems.
  2. Install and replace motors, pumps, drives, belts, filters, gears, chains, and valves on equipment and forklifts.
  3. Troubleshoot pneumatic, electric, hydraulic, and mechanical problems and perform repairs.
  4. Perform repairs involving machine guarding, bolt replacement, and mechanical wear breakdowns.
  5. Weld machine components as needed.
  6. Conduct preventative maintenance on facility equipment.
  7. Handle installations, including hooking up air, water, gas, and aligning equipment.
  8. Respond to electrical emergencies safely, including starting generation systems.
  9. Maintain WWTP facility operations within safety parameters.
  10. Resolve maintenance and mechanical issues promptly to minimize production disruption.
  11. Install and maintain facility grounds, building, and equipment.
  12. Manage refrigeration systems and repair contractors.
  13. Understand necessary tools and determine maintenance needs.
  14. Diagnose operating errors and predict potential issues.
  15. Inspect and test damaged parts, advise on repairs.
  16. Lead equipment installations and recordkeeping.
  17. Follow GMP and safety policies.
  18. Work long hours and weekends as needed.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 4 years industrial maintenance experience.
  3. Strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, PLC, and HVAC skills.
  4. AAS degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
  5. Proficient in English communication.
  6. Good organizational, verbal, and written skills.
  7. Proficient in MS Office.
  8. Reliable, detail-oriented, and professional.
  9. Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively.
  10. Ability to perform job functions with or without accommodations.
