Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Staff Member in Florida to ensure all mechanical systems and common areas are properly maintained and clean. You will inspect, repair, and replace components across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and painting tasks, while following safety guidelines and reporting to supervisors.

The role requires 2+ years in building trades, strong customer service, and communications skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years general experience in building trades, repair and maintenance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Multiple language fluency is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walks floors including roof checks for problems; reports back to supervisors.
• Ensures safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• Maintains working relationships with building staff.
• Paints common areas and performs touch ups; inspects areas needing paint and advises manager.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Handles casual labor tasks and follows safety procedures.
• Performs maintenance repairs in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other building areas when permitted.
• Follows safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Operates new equipment safely and learns to use it correctly.
