Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor should demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a solid understanding of building maintenance, boilers, air compressors, repairs, refurbishments, piping, cleaning, and special projects. You will oversee daily facility activities (maintenance and projects) across three shifts and sites, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely, budget-compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inspect sites regularly to identify problems and necessary repairs.
  2. Prepare weekly schedules and allocate work based on forecasted workloads.
  3. Manage budgets, prepare reports, and oversee budget variances.
  4. Supervise, train, and evaluate workers; manage performance and development.
  5. Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activities.
  6. Maintain understanding of boilers and water loops.
  7. Oversee repairs, ensure timely completion.
  8. Manage inventory and equipment, ensuring proper storage.
  9. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  10. Conduct preventative maintenance and follow-up on repairs.
  11. Perform scheduled safety inspections.
  12. Develop strategies to meet workload demands.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications
  1. High School diploma; post-secondary trade school preferred.
  2. 3-5 years of maintenance technician experience.
  3. 2 years of supervisory experience preferred but not required.
  4. Strong knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures, and maintenance.
  5. Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  6. Effective budgeting and performance management skills.
  7. Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  10. Proficiency in email and MS Office applications.
  11. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
