Job summary

Fraser Ventures is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Supervisor with hands-on carpentry and renovation expertise to manage a team and oversee projects across Southeast Michigan properties, blending leadership with direct field work.

The role encompasses daily work orders, small commercial and residential projects, and scheduled maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and roofing, with emphasis on quality and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of relevant carpentry and facilities supervision/management experience.
• Ability to obtain estimates and coordinate outside subcontractors for specialized work.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and contractors.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, PDF documents, Zoom, and other standard workplace technology.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Valid Michigan builder’s license is required.
• Employment contingent upon pre-employment screening including background, credit and driving record checks.

Responsibilities

• Projects & GC Work: Independently manage small commercial projects, coordinate trades, and liaise with leadership and stakeholders.

Fraser Ventures is a family-owned organization that manages a diverse portfolio of 17 propertiesthroughout Southeast Michigan, including medical offices, commercial spaces, and residential rentals.

We continuously invest in our portfolio to deliver premium, modern environments. Several commercialproperties have already been renovated, withadditionallocations scheduled for high-end commercialtransformations by an outside commercial building firm.

The Role & Team Management

We areseekingan experienced, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Supervisor with a strong background in generalcontracting, carpentry, and facility maintenance. This is a working supervisor position that combinesteam leadership and facilities oversight with substantial hands-on project work.

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor willbe responsible formanaging and supporting a team that includes:

• 5 cleaning staff members
• 1 maintenance team member
• 1 landscaping subcontractor
• 1 painter/general carpentry subcontractor

Primary Responsibilities

These responsibilities aregenerally prioritizedin the following order:

1. Daily Work Orders

• Manage, prioritize, and complete work orders that arise across the company’scommercialand residential properties.

2. Projects & GC Work

• Independently manage and execute small commercial projections, typically involving 1-3trades from scopetodevelopmentto completion.
• Provide owner representation on large commercial projections working withtheretained GCand CM while serving as an internal liaison to leadership and key stakeholders
• Fully manage small residential projects frominceptionto completion, including tradecoordination, schedulemanagementand project delivery.

3. Scheduled Maintenance

• Oversee and execute scheduled maintenance throughout the facilities, includingcoordination and maintenance of building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical,fire protection, and roofing.

Required Hands-On Carpentry & Renovation Experience

Demonstrated hands-on carpentry and renovation experienceisrequired. Candidates shouldpossessthe skills necessary to independently completesubstantialprojects, such askitchenorbathroomrenovations.

Additional Qualifications

• A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience encompassing both general carpentryandfacilitiessupervision/management.
• Ability to obtain estimates and bids, coordinate outside subcontractors for specialized work,and monitor projects to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaboratewithinternal stakeholders, external vendors, and contractors.
• Strong organizational skills andproficiencywith Microsoft Office products, email, PDFdocuments, Zoom, and other standard workplace technology.
• Validdriver’s license isrequiredalong with an acceptable driving record.
• Valid Michiganbuilder’slicenserequired.
