This position will be responsible for assisting the Grounds Manager in leading a team of maintenance and landscape personnel to provide service to owners and guests in the upkeep and maintenance of resort grounds, villas and assets. This individual will participate in the training and supervision of their team. They will provide direct supervision of maintenance and landscape teams to assure proper response to requests for service including planned and preventative maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Supervise work assignments, response and problem resolution, provide technical support to all maintenance and grounds personnel.
  • Direct and assist maintenance techs and groundskeepers with maintenance of buildings, vehicles, and keeping equipment in safe and operable condition.
  • Follow and coach maintenance techs and groundskeepers in the adherence to guidelines set forth in the employee handbook and brand standards and make responsible decisions based upon these guidelines.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve concerns related to the upkeep and maintenance of the villas, grounds and resort landscaping.
  • Implement and facilitate skills training for assigned teams.
  • Assist in controlling department budgetary expenditures.
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Manager of Facilities Ops or General Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license, and minimum of 1 year of driving experience.
  • Must meet company required motor vehicle policy standards.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrates a sincere dedication to provide an unsurpassed level of ownership and guest satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates a professional appearance and pleasant personality.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and organization.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff.
  • Ability to operate all maintenance and grounds machinery.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Preferred 2 years of experience in a leadership role
