Job summary

The Idaho Department of Labor is seeking a Building Facility Foreman to provide facility and maintenance support to the Central Office and Annex buildings in downtown Boise, with occasional support to other state offices. This full-time role ensures buildings are safe, functional, and compliant with regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience performing skilled repair and maintenance in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, building maintenance, and grounds work.
• Ability to estimate material needs and costs for jobs; reading blueprints and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license; must be at least 21 years old and eligible to drive a state vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Determine needs and arrange contracted services; negotiate schedules with subcontractors.
• Inspect work for contract compliance; estimate budgets/cost expenditures and plan future needs.
• Evaluate equipment life expectancy and replacements.
• Write maintenance reports and coordinate with tenants and staff to keep facilities running smoothly.
• Interview and hire staff/contractors; supervise skilled trades staff when needed.
