Job summary

The City of Owatonna is hiring a Maintenance Worker to perform routine maintenance across streets, park grounds, and facilities, and to support inventory and general operations. The role is full-time, typically Monday–Friday, with potential on-call hours to meet departmental needs.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or GED and some maintenance/operational experience; a MN Class B CDL with tank and air brake endorsements (or ability to obtain) is required within six months.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year maintenance and equipment operation or related experience.
• State MN Class B CDL with tank vehicle and air brake endorsements, or obtain within 6 months.
• Knowledge of safety practices and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance for streets, park grounds, facilities, athletics fields and wastewater treatment facility.
• Operates equipment for street repair, patching holes, drainage work, ice rink maintenance, and related tasks.
• Inspects and maintains equipment; performs minor repairs and routine replacements such as oil, filters, tires.
• Monitors materials, supplies, equipment, and maintains related inventory records.
