Job summary

State of Arizona is seeking a Building Maintenance Specialist to manage facility upkeep at the Willcox unit. You will plan maintenance tasks, coordinate materials, supervise inmate crews, and ensure safety and compliance in a correctional environment.

The role requires knowledge of trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC), blueprint reading, and proper documentation. State benefits include comprehensive health, retirement, and paid leave.

Qualifications

• Background check, drug test and medical/physical examination required.
• TB test annually for new employees and ongoing.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and drive state business when required.
• Able to work in a prison environment and supervise inmate work crews.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule maintenance projects with pricing, materials, and equipment.
• Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Document work per policy and supervisor directions.
• Inspect and maintain tools and equipment for proper operation.
• Attend staff meetings and training as required.
• Drive on State business as needed.
• Perform other duties related to assignment.
