Job summary

The City of Brooklyn Center, MN is seeking a full-time Maintenance Custodian for the Heritage Center of Brooklyn Center. You will perform a range of on-site tasks, from minor repairs to landscaping, cleaning, and preventative maintenance, under the supervision of the Operations Director.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of maintenance experience; you’ll support building operations, snow removal, and routine upkeep to keep the facility safe and

High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
One year maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

Performs minor maintenance repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, vacuuming and other cleaning of equipment parts, etc.
Performs carpentry work as needed throughout the buildings.
Monitors building heating and cooling units to determine & correct where problems are occurring.
Performs preventative maintenance.
Assists in snow removal from sidewalks and stairs around the buildings as requested.
Mow lawns, trim trees, and lay sod as needed.
Plant trees or flowers and pick weeds as assigned.
Restock paper supplies and soap in public shared spaces of Heritage Center, including restroom facilities.
Performs routine maintenance of tile floors and stairs.
Routine carpet maintenance including vacuuming and spot cleaning.
