Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation, District 10 Meigs County Garage, is seeking a Facility Maintenance Specialist 2 to perform advanced preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs and installations across the district.

The role involves repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boiler systems; carpentry and reading blueprints, with extensive travel to job sites. Full-time position with competitive benefits and pension, located in Meigs County, OH.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary training in facilities maintenance technology or industrial trades technology.
• 3 yrs. exp. in construction/building maintenance including carpentry, electrical, plumbing & HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Travel throughout the District to perform advanced preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs & installations.
• Repair electrical systems, fixtures, controls & equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance for back flow prevention systems & specialized plumbing.
• Operate low-pressure boilers, check equipment for proper functioning.
• Read building blueprints.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair brine de-icing systems.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment.
• Perform all aspects of general carpentry, including framing, sheet rock, painting and masonry.
