Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Maintenance Utility Worker in Sumter, SC. You will support the maintenance department by cleaning, painting, servicing equipment, and assisting with loading/unloading, delivery tasks, and basic facilities upkeep. Training is provided for essential duties and safety.

The role requires the ability to operate forklifts and other tools, lift up to 80 lbs, and work a Monday–Friday schedule with possible overtime. A valid license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and follow English procedures.

Responsibilities

• Utilize equipment to perform plant cleaning operations and related tasks.
• Paint tasks throughout the plant or facility grounds as needed.
• Operate forklifts/lifts to relocate materials around the facility.
• Assist in loading and unloading trucks and production receiving.
• Perform upkeep including landscaping, snow removal, and related removal work.
• Perform light maintenance tasks and routine inspections after training.
• May operate company vehicles upon certification and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
