Job summary

Clayton County in Georgia is seeking a Buildings and Maintenance Service Manager to oversee maintenance, repair, renovation and construction of county facilities under the Director of Buildings and Maintenance.

You will review work orders, prioritize projects, assign tasks, manage schedules, and ensure safety and compliance, coordinating with contractors and utility providers. The role requires strong leadership and hands-on maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with six years of building maintenance experience.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Special requirement: supervision of inmate labor.

Responsibilities

• Reviews work orders and prioritizes building maintenance projects and requests; meets with department directors to discuss needs and planned projects.
• Assists with project planning and management; develops work schedules and cost estimates; coordinates with contractors.
• Supervises trades employees engaged in building maintenance and repair; assigns work and provides training and direction.
• Ensures maintenance is performed according to plans and specifications and oversees safety and compliance.
