Job summary

YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform daily upkeep, preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety checks at a YMCA facility. The role involves responding to work orders, inspecting systems, and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment for members, staff, and guests.

Responsibilities include coordinating with leadership, assisting with grounds and pools as applicable, and maintaining accurate service records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of building maintenance or facilities experience.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise facility operations and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Receive and document work orders; communicate status and needs to supervisors.
• Monitor custodial quality and safety; maintain records of inspections and maintenance.
