Job summary

Mercy Medical Center seeks a maintenance technician to perform semi-skilled to skilled maintenance on mechanical, electrical and carpentry projects at our Des Moines facilities.

The role involves preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, and light facility work such as painting, snow removal, and minor plumbing. A valid driver's license and at least two years of maintenance experience are required, with cross-training across Mercy facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years experience in preventative maintenance and service work.
• Valid Driver’s/Chauffeur’s License required; must meet safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on a/c units, heaters, plumbing, lighting and electrical systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspect equipment for issues.
• Move and store furniture between locations safely.
• Perform painting, carpentry, minor plumbing and snow removal tasks.
• Operate assigned vehicle(s) safely and be cross-trained across Mercy facilities.
