Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform semi-skilled to skilled maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and carpentry projects during day shift.

You will troubleshoot and repair HVAC units, plumbing, lighting, and related systems, conduct preventive maintenance, move equipment, and assist with snow removal as needed. Cross-training across Mercy facilities is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Two years of preventative maintenance and service experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive per policy.

Responsibilities

• Service work – diagnose and repair problems with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Preventative maintenance – inspect and service equipment and systems.
• Move and store furniture and equipment between locations safely.
• Assist with snow removal and basic yardwork as needed.
• Cross trained across Mercy Medical Center facilities.
