Job summary

SpartanNash Military is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager in Norfolk, VA to lead the day-to-day maintenance of MHE, buildings, and utilities. You will supervise a team, manage budgets, and coordinate with operations and engineering on expansion projects.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s/Associate degree in Engineering, 5+ years of maintenance experience, and at least 2 years of supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of OSHA/EPA rules and RETA certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering (or a Bachelor's in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent.
• Five years facility maintenance experience.
• Flexible schedule; on-call during evenings/weekends as needed.
• Two years supervisory/management experience.
• Experience with industrial equipment, building maintenance, HVAC, refrigerating systems, and environmental regulations.
• RETA certification upon hire preferred (location-dependent).
• Travel up to 50% may be required across locations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day facility and equipment maintenance including MHE, buildings, grounds, water, refrigeration, fire systems, and related labor and budgets.
• Solicit bids and manage outside contractors for maintenance work.
• Conduct audits to ensure OSHA/EPA compliance and company standards.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs and documentation in required software.
• Coordinate expansion/construction projects with operations and engineering.
• Ensure health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with management, vendors, and departments to set priorities.
• Manage department P&L, expenses, capital budgeting, and productivity goals.
• Lead department staffing, training, performance management and career development.
