Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager in Norfolk, VA. You will lead maintenance of MHE, buildings, refrigeration, and utility systems, while managing budgets and external contractors.

Requirement includes an engineering degree, 5 years of maintenance experience, and 2 years of supervision. On-call and flexible hours are expected; RETA or similar certification is preferred. This role supports a safe, compliant warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (Required) in Engineering (or bachelor's) in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Five years facility maintenance experience.
• On-call availability and flexible schedule, Mon–Fri with evenings/weekends as needed.
• Two years supervisory/management experience.
• Knowledge of operating/support industrial equipment, building maintenance, refrigeration and environmental regulations.
• Experience complying with OSHA/EPA/RMP standards.
• RETA classes/certification upon hire (if required).
• HVAC/refrigeration maintenance knowledge; Square-Rigger or similar software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day facility and equipment maintenance across MHE, buildings, grounds and systems.
• Oversee bids and contractors for maintenance work.
• Conduct safety and environmental compliance audits (OSHA/EPA).
• Manage preventive maintenance programs and documentation.
• Coordinate with warehouse ops and engineering on projects and expansions.
• Maintain health, safety, cleanliness and security of the facility.
• Ensure efficient operation of all warehouse equipment and processes.
• Lead department staffing, training and performance development.
