Job summary

The State of South Carolina invites applications for a senior facilities supervisor responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling preventive maintenance for electrical distribution systems across multiple institutions and facilities.

You will oversee a skilled maintenance workforce, approve electrical procedures, and ensure tool control and inventory accuracy while guiding emergency maintenance and major renovation projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and ten years of experience in electronics, electrical systems, or high voltage operations.
• Experience in a lead/supervisory role.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Directs planning, development, organization, coordination, implementation and control of preventive maintenance programs for electrical primary distribution systems and related facilities.
• Maintain skilled workforce and approve electrical/electronic functions and procedures for facilities management.
• Ensure tool control and maintain accurate inventory of tools for the area and for supervised employees.
• Implement and supervise emergency maintenance.
• Oversee renovations and construction projects related to electrical/electronic systems across facilities.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Under general supervision directs the planning, development, organization, coordination, implementation and control of all preventive maintenance programs, alteration/maintenance repair, renovation and construction projects for electrical primary distribution systems, all electrical/electronic systems throughout SCDC which include 29 existing institutions, support buildings and future facilities to include future replacement needs of existing electrical/electronic equipment, location and upgrading of inefficient electrical/electronic systems as well as new and renovated construction projects throughout SCDC.
• Maintain skilled work force.
• Approving authority for all electrical/electronic functions and procedures for facilities management.
• Ensures compliance of tool control and maintains accurate inventory of tools assigned to his/her area as well as tools assigned to employees under his/her supervision.
• Implement and supervise emergency maintenance.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements

A high school diploma and professional experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment, and experience in a lead/supervisory role.

SCDC Minimum Requirements

• A high school diploma and ten (10) years of experience in electronics, electrical systems, or high - voltage operations.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or be able to obtain one within six (6) months of hire.
• Of the required experience, at least two (2) years must be in a supervisory capacity.
