Job summary

South Carolina Department of Corrections seeks an experienced electrical supervisor to plan, develop, and manage preventive maintenance programs and electrical projects across multiple facilities. Qualifications

• A high school diploma and professional experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment, and experience in a lead/supervisory role.
• Ten years of experience in electronics, electrical systems, or high voltage operations.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or be able to obtain one within six months of hire.
• Of the required experience, at least two years must be in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Directs the planning, development, organization, coordination, implementation and control of all preventive maintenance programs, alteration/maintenance repair, renovation and construction projects for electrical primary distribution systems, all electrical/electronic systems throughout SCDC which include 29 existing institutions, support buildings and future facilities to include future replacement needs of existing electrical/electronic equipment, location and upgrading of inefficient electrical/electronic systems as well as new and renovated construction projects throughout SCDC.
• Maintain skilled work force.
• Approving authority for all electrical/electronic functions and procedures for facilities management.
• Ensures compliance of tool control and maintains accurate inventory of tools assigned to his/her area as well as tools assigned to employees under his/her supervision.
• Implement and supervise emergency maintenance.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
