Job summary

Farmer’s Fridge in Chicago is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of our 100,000-square-foot food manufacturing facility. You’ll oversee preventative maintenance, manage technicians and vendors, and partner with Operations, Quality, Food Safety, and IT to keep our facility running safely and efficiently.

This senior role requires 5+ years in facilities leadership, strong CMMS knowledge, and budget experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facilities or maintenance leadership in a food manufacturing or regulated environment.
• Experience managing maintenance operations in refrigerated/temperature-controlled facilities.
• Expert knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability.
• Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, refrigeration, conveyors, and utilities.
• Able to balance safety, food quality, and uptime while leading cross-functional teams.
• Budgets, metrics, and cost-reduction experience; collaboration with Operations, IT, Quality.

Responsibilities

• Own the preventative maintenance strategy for the production facility.
• Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team and external vendors.
• Build and improve maintenance programs, inspections, and documentation.
• Oversee facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance/Food Safety requirements.
• Manage the facility maintenance budget and capital planning.
• Develop performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee on-call program and leadership during after-hours issues.
• Collaborate with Operations, IT, Engineering and plant leadership.
